Problems Accessing Online Content in Music Books

Unfortunately, my publisher is once again having problems with the online content for a few of my music books. If you try the URL in the book and you get redirected to a generic DK catalog page, you can use the following links to go direct to the online content for your specific book:

Idiot’s Guides: Music Theory, 3rd Edition

Idiot’s Guides: Singing, 2nd Edition

For both books, make sure you click the Read More link to view all the online content.

I apologize for this and hope fervently that DK’s website crew gets their act together soon!

    Hi Michael,
Does the book Solos and Improvisation have an accompanying CD that can be purchased.

    Thank you
    Wayne

      Here’s what to do.

      1. Go to https://www.dk.com/us/9781465451675-idiots-guides-music-theory-3e/.
      2. Scroll to the BOOK EXTRAS section. (You may need to click READ MORE to see this section.)
      3. Mouse over the text that reads “Download Music Theory Ear Training Course.” This reveals the text is actually a link.
      4. Click this text/link.
      5. When you see the Save As dialog box, select a location to download this file. (It’s a big file, so this may take awhile.)
      6. The file is now downloaded. This is a compressed (ZIP) file, so you’ll need to open or extract the individual files from the master ZIP folder. In later versions of Windows, you should be able to do this by right-clicking the file and then selecting EXTRACT ALL. If you have an older version of Windows, you may need to install a third-party utility to unzip this file, such as 7-Zip (http://download.cnet.com/7-Zip/3000-2250_4-10045185.html).

Once you have the files unzipped, go to the THEORYaudio folder and you should be able to double-click each audio file to play that lesson.
